Mites?

I was just holding Tara and I noticed there were little wriggly things by her ear. Are these ear mites? She's recently been to stay with my friend who has guinea-pigs for a few days whilst I was away so I guess she must have caught them there. How do I get rid of them?

It sounds like it could be ear mites. My guinea-pig, Barry had them when I got him in May last year. I just bathed him in Jonhsons Small Animal Shampoo, its not specifically for mites or anything but that got rid of it, but you could use the Manuka & Neem Shampoo from Gorgeous Guineas

They can be used for all skin problems and I used them on Amber when she had a fungal infection on her ear and it cleared it up within two weeks.
Also, make sure you let your friend know so she can treat her guinea-pig too.
