I'm going to make a guinea-pig bed. Seeing as my last attempt didn't quite go to plan (Roy sat in it and it fell apart :lol3: ) I don't think this will go very well but I'm going to give it a try.

I've mad the kind of base type thing but I'm stuck now. I need something to keep the opening bit open, because it keeps closing shut and its a flimsy really, do you know of anything I can sew into the top of the sleeping bag to keep it open?

Just to show what it looks like so far:

I'm thinking of making a how to make a guinea-pig sleeping bag thread for this forum - I know I'm not very good at it but my guinea-pigs are fine with the ones I've made them before so if it helps anyone out then its good. Also I thought it was really easy to make because I can't understand most instructions because I have to sew it by hand and I get confused Embarassed Laughing

to keep it open you can sew some pipe cleaners to the inside then roll the over hanging fabric around it and sew so that you can't see the pipe cleaners. Or if you can get a diving ring, they might be a good size.

I completley forgot to get pipe cleaners today so I'm going to get some tommorow, but I've made another sleeping bag, this time a bit bigger so that Roy can fit in it

Very adorable and I actually did that and I used a metal coat hanger an I bent it to shape it out and it worked so good.

Thank you, I never thought of a coat hanger I'll try that next time I make one. I've also made some lap blankets for my guinea-pigs which are good for if they're skittish too Smile
