Is this big enough?

Post by Alicia on Sun Oct 24, 2010 7:00 am

I'm moving my guinea-pigs into the shed soon and I was sorting out a cage for the girls today. I've made this out of grids, I've got some more grids so I can make it bigger if I need to, but I still need to fit the boars in their hutches in the shed too so I can't make the girls cage too big. Is this big enough for 3 sows?

Please excuse the mess and the hole in the shed!

What are the dimensions? I don't have a C&C myself, so I can't tell just by looking.

I go by 7.5 sq ft per pig, so you might be better to make that 2X5 grids or the equivalent.

Looks good though!

For three that's plenty of room. They will have plenty of room to play and if you add little houses also.

For three girls, It needs to be at least 2X5 c&c grid size.
As far as I can tell that is a 2X3, so no that is too small Im afaired.

I don't know the size of the hutches, but I'll measure them on Friday when I get home. I have 3 sows in one hutch and the other 3 hutches have 1 boar in each.
