Keeping guinea-pigs occupied when its raining
My guinea-pigs have been in their run for a few hours but it started pouring with rain earlier so I've shut them in but I wanted to find something that would keep them occupied for a while whilst they're shut in their hutch. Any ideas? I mean like toys for them so they don't get bored in their hutches.

Some guinea pigs love cat balls. Like the ones that have the bell in the middle. There isn't much you can do unless you play with them though, but definetly get a couple cat balls. They push them around and just somthing new for them to check out.

I actually think she's trying to find a way to keep them entertained without having her entertain them herself, but very good idea if somone wants to.

I do play with them but all I meant was my guinea-pigs love going in their run, and when they can't because it's raining or something they chew the bars to try ang get in, so I wanted something to distract them with and keep them busy until its stopped raining.

Super-pet vegie baskets or similar packed full of fruit & vegies are great fun! So are ka-bobs. And toilet rolls with oats inside and the ends scrunched up, you can tie this up in the cage or stick it through the bars so that it's more of a challenge to get the food out of it too. Oh, and you can give them apple branches to chew on...mine used to LOVE apple branches soaked in un-sweetened cranberry juice. Ooohh..things that make noise are awesome too! Like cat balls that have bells in them. Or cat & dog treat dispensers filled with little pieces of chopped up fruit & vegies.

Another great idea is to get some cardboard boxes and make little houses and towns with them. The piggies LOVE exploring and it wll keep them occupied for a while
